MISSING SWIMMER -APEX PARK
UPDATE: Police have located the body of a 26 year old man missing in the Murray River at Apex Park.
Joint search operation continues.Police are appealing for public assistance as a joint search operation for a missing swimmer continues on the Victorian border.
Police have been told about 8.10pm yesterday (Friday 1 March 2019), three men entered the Murray River from a caravan park on Cureton Avenue at Mildura, Victoria, when a 26-year-old Malaysian National, got into difficulty in the water.
The two other men, aged 25 and 26, saw him disappear and did not see him resurface.
The pair were able to return to shore and contact emergency services.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria attended the location initially before leaving when NSW Police arrived, who commenced a search operation, which was suspended at 11pm.
A joint search operation continues today (Saturday 2 March 2019), involving officers from Barrier Police District, Victoria Police, and Victoria SES.
NSW Police Divers are travelling to the scene.
Police ask members of the public to avoid the area and the boat ramp at Apex Park Mildura as the operation continues.
Police are appealing for anyone who be able to assist in locating the man to come forward.
